City of Astoria Set to Recognize Veterans of First World War

Join us on Sunday, November 11, at the Astoria Public Library (450 10th St.), to celebrate the completion of the restoration grant work and honoring the Veterans of WWI.
The event will start with the laying of a poppy wreath at the Doughboy Monument at 11:00 am on Marine Drive while Bells of Peace are rung throughout the City.
It will include a flag ceremony, speakers on the history of the Monument and Clatsop County members’ contributions during the War, and a World War I memorabilia display starting at the Library at 1:00pm. Cake and light refreshments provided after a short ceremony.
