ASTORIA POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WILL BE CLOSED ON MAY 18TH AND 21ST

In order to accommodate the temporary move to the Yacht Club, at 1555 W Marine Dr, Astoria Police and Fire Departments, currently located at 555 30th Street, will be closed all day Friday, May 18, 2012, and Monday, May 21, 2012, and will reopen for business on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.  The office hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

 

PAY YOUR UTILITY BILL ONLINE

The City of Astoria is pleased to announce that you can now pay your Utility bill online.  Online bill pay offers: ability to pay utility billings online with a credit card or electronic check;  24/7 account access;  ability to view bills online;  convenient, paperless statements via email.  It's so convenient - no checks, no stamps, no hassles.  And, it's free!  To pay online click on Utility Billing located on the left side of the home page. Click the first link: “Pay Utility Bill Online”. New Users will need to sign up for this service and register. If you have any questions or need further assistance please contact Sherie Pelto at (503) 338-5172 or Sue Dohaniuk at (503) 325-5821.

 

PRESCRIPTION DRUG BOX TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE

Effective May 18, 2012, the Prescription Drug Drop Off Box, located at the Astoria Police Department, will be temporarily unavailable due to the pending remodel of the Public Safety Building.  If you have prescription medications or unused over the counter medications that you need to dispose of, please bring it to the Astoria Police Department at their new temporary location at the Yacht Club, at 1555 W Marine Dr, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Multi-Purpose Pilot Grant Program Application

On February 6, 2012, the Astoria City Council held a public hearing on an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Multi-Purpose Pilot Grant Program application. The grant application was for $400,000 to conduct possible assessment and remediation of Heritage Square at 1153 Duane Street. The City Council approved submittal of the grant application as attached.
